Youth Repertoire and Resource Chair - Jeff Mosher
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Fall Festival - The Youth repertoire and resources chair should coordinate the fall festival. The youth chair should appoint/confirm hosts, site managers, and other necessary personnel to ensure the success of this event. Upon conclusion of the event the chair should prepare a brief summary of the event to the executive committee. This report should minimally include the following - participants and any idiosyncrasies at any given site reported by the site manager. Suggested items to be included in summary to the executive committee is literature performed, size of each choir, and future recommendations.
- Manage Spring Adjudicated Festival - The Youth repertoire and resource chair should manage the spring adjudicated festival in conjunction with the Maine ACDA president. The chair shall develop, modify, and make recommendations for developing a rubric for this festival as well as develop rules and guidelines for participation. The chair shall serve as site manager for the event and is responsible for ensuring that ensembles comply with ACDA guidelines and festival rules. Additionally, the chair is to serve as liaison between host, participating, schools and adjudicators in conjunction with Maine ACDA president or designee. The chair is to prepare an executive summary of the event which will be submitted to the executive committee including the following: number of participants, rating summary, literature performed, and recommendation for future years.
- Attend two ACDA board meetings (Fall/Spring) in person or electronically.
- Recommend a successor.
Collegiate Nicolas Alberto Dosman (temporary)
- Develop collegiate ACDA chapters throughout the state of Maine and identify potential advisors for these chapters.
- Maintain a relationship with state, regional, and national ACDA collegiate chapters.
- Coordinate service activities for collegiate ACDA chapters.
- Encourage and facilitate conference attendance at State, Regional, and National conferences.
- Prepare a brief report for the executive committee summarizing chapter activities throughout the state.
- Attend two ACDA board meetings (Fall/Spring) in person or electronically.
- Recommend a successor.
Lifelong Choirs - Robert Russell
- Identify organizations in the state that fall under “ Lifelong Choirs” (church, community, civic etc).
- Coordinate/include Maine ACDA in at least one event that would be appropriate for lifelong singers (this could be a partnership with other organizations).
- Prepare a brief summary for the executive committee of the event and make recommendations.
- Attend two ACDA board meetings (Fall/Spring) in person or electronically.
- Recommend a successor.
Repertoire Specific(Middle School Focus) - Benjamin Holbrook, Bethany Perkins-Hall
- The repertoire specific (middle school) chair shall serve as Manager for the ACDA Middle School All-State Festival. Responsibilities include: recruiting schools to participate and ensuring that a balanced choir( as best as possible) is formed, communicating with members, coordinating all aspects of the festival with the assistance of a member of the executive committee if desired. The chair should identify a host, communicate any associated costs to the Maine Executive committee, acquire nationally renowned conductors for the festival, manage the conductor’s visit (hotels, transportation, meals etc) and will serve as administrator of the event.
- Prepare a brief report for the executive committee summarizing the Middle School All-State Festival. The report should minimally include: repertoire performed, any idiosyncrasies, and recommendations for the future.
- Attend two ACDA board meeting(Fall/Spring) in person or electronically.
- Recommend a successor.
